We recently teamed up with Google's Pathfinder Beyond Sports and the National Basketball Retired Players Association (NBRPA) to create an impactful Summer League Getaway experience for over 300 former NBA, WNBA, and Harlem Globetrotter athletes. Our goal was to empower these legends in their lives after basketball, focusing on career growth, small business development, continued learning, and community engagement.
A key highlight was showcasing Google's cutting-edge technology. Over 250 athletes got a firsthand look at labs.google and Gemini AI, exploring how these tools can support their personal and professional journeys.
We also focused on helping athletes thrive in the business world. Fifteen+ small business owners received personalized advice from Google Small Business Advisors, gaining valuable insights to navigate the digital landscape. For those exploring new career paths, we introduced 30+ athletes to Grow with Google Career Certificates, providing access to in-demand skills and training.
Recognizing the incredible influence these athletes have, we also explored ways to amplify their community impact. We connected with 15+ athletes leading youth development foundations, discussing how technology can further their important work.
To ensure personalized support, we offered 40+ athletes resume reviews and career guidance, addressing their individual needs. We also launched a mentorship program, pairing athletes with mentors to foster ongoing professional growth.
The NBRPA Summer League Getaway 2024 was more than just an event; it was a demonstration of how collaboration can empower individuals to achieve their full potential.
