The energy of the NFL Draft is undeniable, but it also reminds us that a strong education is crucial for all young people, regardless of their athletic aspirations.  That's why we joined forces with Google Code Next Detroit, the NFL Players Association Detroit Chapter, CODE313, and Umoja Debate League to host a three-day tech immersion event in Detroit.

Over 140 students from 10 metro Detroit Public Schools (grades 8-11) dove headfirst into the world of cutting-edge technology.  We're talking Artificial Intelligence, VR/AR, drones, robotics, and even game design!  It wasn't just about learning whatthese technologies are; it was about learning how to use them.  Students honed their teamwork and creative problem-solving skills and developed the confidence to pitch their own tech solutions.  A key focus was challenging them to think about how technology can address real-world issues faced by athletes.

The results were inspiring. Students came up with jaw-dropping ideas and presented them with impressive poise.  Beyond the cool tech, the event sparked a greater interest in technology careers and fostered valuable connections between schools and the tech industry.

This Detroit Tech Immersion Event proved that when you give young people access to opportunity and the tools to create, amazing things happen.  We're excited to build on this success, expand our reach, and continue empowering the next generation of tech leaders.
